Welcome to the Byfield School website
I hope that you find the information that you are looking for. You are very welcome to telephone or email me if you have any questions or if you would like to come and look around the school.
At Byfield School all members of staff exercise a great deal of care and commitment towards each individual child. The teachers are supported by experienced and well-qualified learning support assistants. We are very aware of the ability of each child and the children are given individual targets for their future progress.
I hope you enjoy browsing our website.

The school vision statement was produced collaboratively by the governors, headteacher, teaching and
non-teaching staff of Byfield School. It is shared with the parents and pupils of the school termly.
" We aim to provide a safe and effective learning environment at the heart of the community where the individuality of each child is recognised and respected.
We encourage enthusiasm and a hunger for learning in order to develop our children’s skills and personalities to their maximum potential and so that they are prepared for the next stages of education and their role in society."

Thank you so much to all the parents and children who have sent cards, messages, gifts and visited.
Your understanding and support has been greatly appreciated and the kindness demonstrated to my family beyond measure. Thank you for the help and care so generously given: the lifts, the child care, the cakes, the company, flowers, magazines, books... My recovery is long and steady, but your patience and encouragement strengthens my spirits, adding sunshine to the gloomiest of days.
Thank you, thank you, thank you,
