It just shows that persistence does pay off...After several years of almosts and nearlies Byfield School's basketball team have finally taken top honours at the Hotshots tournament held at Danes Camp in Northampton on Saturday.The tournament started well with an 8-0 win over Silverstone. The good start continued with a 6-2 win over Paulesbury.Going into the final match against Nicholas Hawksmoor Byfield only needed a draw to take top place but cruised through with a 2-0 win.The win was particularly impressive as this was the first outing for some members of the squad.As you'd expect the small crowd of Byfield supporters went wild when the winners were announced!The wining team took everything in their stride but they couldn't resist putting on their best poses for the team photo.Well done all you!
