As a result of their success on Monday the boys were invited to take part in the next round of the football competition.This took place at Campion school near Northampton this afternoon. Another cold and windy day did nothing to dampen the boys' enthusiasm.The boys always enjoy their games but at stake today was a place in the County finals for small primary schools.The boys went undefeated again. They didn't even concede a goal. It looked like a place in the county final was waiting.But unfortunately another excellent team from Welton had also had a good afternoon; they were also unbeaten. After finishing level on points it all came down to goal difference.Welton pipped Byfield by a single goal.Initially the boys were understandably disappointed to have come so close.So not only do the boys deserve credit for the football skills but also for their excellent attitude in the face of such disappointment. Another life lesson.Well done boys!
